Within Christianity there is a 'movement', or rather a teaching, that all Christians need to claim their right to healing - that Jesus took their sicknesses on Himself when He was whipped and that we should not be sick or suffering because this is not God's will for us if we have enough faith. Many wonderful, likable Christians believe this. Is this true, though? Is this exactly what the Bible teaches? I have researched this belief long and hard both in scripture, in church history, and within the the groups that believe and teach this. I believe the first place everyone should go to in order to research this is the Bible. Don't just read a couple verses that someone quotes to you, but check out the ENTIRE word of God on sickness, healing, suffering, and Jesus' atonement.
The second place I think you should look is at the history of the prominent teachers of this movement/belief. It will be eye opening to say the least. The link below will take you to a website dedicated to taking an honest, biblical look at these men and women and their lives, their teaching, and most importantly...their sicknesses!
